Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.65% in an upbeat market
Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 1.41 per cent), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.21 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.06 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(up 0.94 per cent) and HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.83 per cent) were among the top gainers.
MphasiS Ltd.(down 0.17 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty IT index was up 0.65 per cent at 31368.65 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 81.95 points at 19335.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 206.68 points at 65038.09.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 39 were trading in the green, while 11 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, Suzlon Energy, BHEL, Reliance Power and Alok Industries were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Times Guaranty, Pokarna Ltd, ITD Cementation, Skipper Ltd and Birla Cable hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while GNA Axles, Hotel Rugby, Sanco Industries, FutureLifestyleFash and Pyramid Technoplast hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
