Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.1% in an upbeat market

Alkem Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.49 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.32 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 1.24 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 0.75 per cent) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 0.24 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.33 per cent), Torrent Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.58 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(down 0.56 per cent), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) and Gland Pharma Ltd.(down 0.45 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.1 per cent at 19541.55 at the time of writing this report.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 51.25 points at 23589.1, while the BSE Sensex was up 219.82 points at 77560.9.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 22 were trading in the green, while 27 were in the red.
Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, Hind Const Co, JP Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of Somi Conveyor, AmaraRaja Batteries, Naga Dhunseri Group, PNB Gilts and Mohit Inds hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while We Win, Eurotex Ind, Future Supply Chain, Filatex Fashions and GIR Natureview hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
