Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index falls 0.74%
Shares of Granules India(up 3.66 per cent), Glenmark Pharmaceuticals(up 3.14 per cent), Pfizer(up 0.49 per cent) and Torrent Pharmaceuticals(up 0.15 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack. On the other hand, Natco Pharma(down 2.2 per cent), Biocon(down 2.14 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 2.06 per cent), Divis Laboratories(down 1.83 per cent) and Abbott India(down 1.37 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.74 per cent down at 13769.0. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 165.5 points at 19331.8, while the BSE Sensex stood down 505.19 points at 65280.45.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 7 ended in the green, while 43 closed in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Reliance Power, PNB and Bank of Maharashtra were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
