Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.23% in an upbeat market
Natco Pharma(up 2.76 per cent), Divis Laboratories(up 1.72 per cent), Granules India(up 1.35 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences(up 1.29 per cent) and Cipla(up 1.24 per cent) were among the top gainers. Laurus(down 1.23 per cent), Aurobindo Pharma(down 0.93 per cent), Glaxosmithkline Pharmaceuticals(down 0.81 per cent), Lupin(down 0.73 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(down 0.7 per cent) were the top losers on the index.
The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.23 per cent at 13798.7 at the time of writing this report. Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 127.95 points at 19317.0, while the BSE Sensex was up 457.49 points at 65176.05.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red. Shares of Suzlon Energy, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank and Brightcom Group were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
