Stock market update: Power stocks down as market falls

JSW Energy(up 7.19%), Alstom T&D India(up 3.08%), Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(up 2.29%), Gujarat Industries Power(up 1.91%), SJVN(up 1.69%), PTC India(up 1.58%), KPI Green Energy(up 0.99%), CESC(up 0.61%), Hitachi Energy India(up 0.48%) and NLC India(up 0.46%) stood among the top gainers.
RTNPOWER(down 5.07%), Inox wind(down 2.86%), Inox Wind Energy(down 2.84%), Karma Energy(down 2.15%), Suzlon Energy(down 1.76%), Voltamp Transformers(down 1.61%), Kalpataru Projects International(down 1.44%), KEC International(down 1.29%), Power Grid Corporation of India(down 1.22%) and Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 1.21%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 68.1 points down at 19674.25, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 221.09 points at 66009.15.
IndusInd Bank Ltd.(up 2.94%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 2.43%), State Bank of India(up 1.7%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.5%), Bajaj Finserv Ltd.(up 1.14%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.06%), Coal India Ltd.(up 1.03%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 0.94%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.8%) and Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 0.77%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
