Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE
Benchmark NSE Nifty index rose 9.5 points to 24540.4 amid buying in frontline bluechip stocks.
However, stocks such as Shrenik, Ortel Communications, Brightcom Group, Sanco Industries and Praxis Home Retail, touched their fresh 52-week low.
Overall, 29 shares traded in the green in Nifty50 index, while 21 traded in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL, NTPC, HDFC Bank, Grasim Inds. and UltraTech Cem. were among top gainers, while Wipro, RIL, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank and IndusInd Bank traded in the red.
The BSE Sensex was trading 9.9 points up at 80614.55 at 10:09AM(IST).
Traders were seen piling up positions in Fertilisers, Petrochemicals, Agriculture/Horticulture/Livestock, Irrigation & Allied Services and Term Lending Institutions sectors, while selling was visible in Metals — Ferrous, Metals — Non Ferrous, Airlines, Beverages — Alcoholic and Auto sectors.
