Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

Dwarikesh Sugar Industries Ltd.(up 3.48%), KM Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 3.46%), Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals Ltd.(up 3.31%), Dhampur Sugar Mills Ltd.(up 3.15%), DCM Shriram Industries Ltd.(up 3.13%), Balrampur Chini Mills Ltd.(up 2.92%), EID Parry(India)Ltd.(up 2.89%), Simbhaoli Sugars Ltd.(up 2.83%), Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar Ltd.(up 2.74%) and Dalmia Bharat Sugar and Industries Ltd.(up 2.69%) stood among the top gainers.

Ugar Sugar Works Ltd.(down 1.38%) and Bannari Amman Sugars Ltd.(down 0.27%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 98.11 points at 23742.9, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 368.4 points at 78507.41.
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 3.23%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.5%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(up 1.66%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.65%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.32%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.23%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.04%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(up 1.03%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.03%) and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(up 1.01%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
