oncologists from Tata Memorial Hospital have challenged recent claims made by former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu regarding his wife's cancer treatment. Sidhu attributed Navjot Kaur Sidhu’s recovery to a diet including turmeric, neem, and intermittent fasting. The oncologists, however, credit standard medical procedures.
“Please don’t believe and get fooled by these statements regardless of who it comes from. These are unscientific and baseless recommendations. She got surgery and chemotherapy that were evidence based which is what made her cancer-free. Not the haldi, neem etc.,” stated Dr. Pramesh CS, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, in a post on X responding to Sidhu's video.
Sidhu announced his wife was clinically cancer-free on Thursday, detailing her diet and fasting regimen in a video conference. He claimed these practices helped cure her “incurable” disease.
The oncologists countered in their statement, emphasizing the lack of scientific evidence supporting such claims. They urged the public to rely on proven cancer treatments like surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy, and consult with cancer specialists if experiencing symptoms.
