Swati Maliwal assault case: AAP alleges BJP conspiracy to frame Kejriwal, says charges against Bibhav Kumar ‘baseless’

After AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal alleged that she was assaulted by Bibhav Kumar, long-standing aide of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the party alleged that this was a “BJP conspiracy” to frame the CM.

Addressing a press conference, AAP leader Atishi claimed that Maliwal reached the CM’s residence without an appointment and that her “intention” was to level allegations against Kejriwal.

She added that although Maliwal claimed that she was “brutally assaulted”, a video which surfaced today on social media “shows entire different reality”.

The video showed Maliwal threatening Kumar, Atishi said. The charges against Kumar were “baseless and false”, she added.

Atishi added that Kumar has given a complaint to the police against Maliwal, who was formerly the chief of the Delhi Commission for Women.

On being asked why AAP MP Sanjay Singh confirmed that Maliwal was assaulted, Atishi said that till that moment only Maliwal’s version was available, however, later when he got to hear Kumar’s side as well.
