GOAT made an impressive debut on September 5, 2024, grossing an extraordinary Rs 126.32 crore globally, with Rs 55 crore coming from Indian theaters. This stellar opening marked a new milestone in Tamil cinema, showcasing Vijay's massive fan following and the anticipation surrounding the film. The film's mix of action, drama, and emotional moments resonated well with the audience, contributing to its initial success.
However, as expected with many films that enjoy massive openings, GOAT experienced a sharp drop in earnings on its second day. The movie’s collections dropped by 43%, earning Rs 24.75 crore on Friday, compared to its Rs 43 crore net haul on the first day. In total, the film accumulated Rs 68.75 crore over its first two days across all languages, including Rs 61.15 crore from Tamil, Rs 3.35 crore from Hindi, and Rs 4.25 crore from Telugu.
Despite this, the film still achieved notable figures and continued to draw crowds, especially in Tamil Nadu, where its occupancy rate on Friday was 60.38%. Morning shows had lower attendance at 45.99%, but evening and night shows saw improvements with occupancy rates reaching up to 74.32%.
