One of the most significant changes in The Witcher Season 4 is the introduction of Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia, succeeding Henry Cavill. Hemsworth’s casting was announced in late 2022 following Cavill’s sudden exit. Earlier this year, Netflix offered fans the first official look at Hemsworth in his new role.
The reveal, shared by Entertainment Weekly, included a promotional photo and a short video featuring Hemsworth as Geralt alongside his trusty steed, Roach.
Prior to this official reveal, paparazzi photos from Metro and Redanian Intelligence provided an early glimpse of Hemsworth in full costume, capturing him on set alongside co-star Anya Chalotra, who reprises her role as Yennefer.
In addition to Hemsworth, the main cast will see the return of Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri, Joey Batey as Jaskier, Graham McTavish as Dijkstra, Cassie Clare as Philippa Eilhart, and Meng’er Zhang as Milva.
The season will also feature new faces, most notably Jack Myers, who joins the cast in a role believed to be codenamed «River.» Myers is known for his recent work in Masters of the Air on Apple TV+ and has appeared in Netflix Originals such as The Crown, White Lines, and The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
