Season 2 of Prime Video's The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is set to premiere later this month, continuing the saga of Middle-earth's Second Age. A new character poster featuring Elrond (Robert Aramayo) has been released, hinting at the intense battles to come.
Prime Video's official X account has unveiled a new poster showcasing Lord Elrond. In the image, Elrond is depicted in elven armor, with his sword drawn and helmet off. This portrayal contrasts with his role as a healer, suggesting that the upcoming season will highlight his warrior side. Elrond's prominent role in the first season included a strong bond with Dwarven prince Durin IV (Owain Arthur). This alliance will play a crucial role as Middle-earth faces imminent threats.
The new poster's caption, «Heroes will rise,» contrasts with the showrunners' previous statements. Patrick McKay and J.D. Payne have indicated that Season 2 will shift its focus from heroes to villains. The Dark Lord Sauron (Charlie Vickers), previously in the background, will now play a central role. His new persona aims to deceive and manipulate the inhabitants of Middle-earth.
