This marks the latest abrupt departure of a senior federal official after she refused to provide personal and sensitive data of Americans to the all-new department led by Elon Musk.
According to an NY Times report, the data that DOGE was seeking was an internal data repository that contained personal information of millions of Americans that was under the safeguard of the Social Security Administration previously led by Michelle King, who resigned from her post of acting commissioner after the incident.

The Social Security Administration's database contains financial data, employment information and addresses of millions of those who have a Social Security number, and that may fall in the hands of DOGE, but that has reportedly not happened till now owing to the stepping down of the acting commissioner.
Bank information, earnings records, and even names addresses of minors are stored in this database, which is a grave concern for many, including the president of Social Security Works, a group that promotes the expansion of Social Security, as per NY Times.
