Toronto International Film Festival has revealed its diverse line-up for the Discovery and Midnight Madness programs. Featuring original and unexpected works, the Midnight Madness program offers bizarre and daring cinema, while the Discovery program showcases contemporary international cinema and emerging talents. The Midnight Madness line-up includes 10 titles, including seven World Premieres. Notable selections are “Dicks: The Musical” by Larry Charles and satirical provocations from Saudi Arabia and Serbia. On the other hand, the Discovery program presents 26 titles with a strong emphasis on World and International Premieres. An exceptional highlight is the participation of 13 female filmmakers, representing 50% of the program's total. Anita Lee, TIFF Chief Programming Officer, expressed enthusiasm, stating that the Discovery and Midnight Madness 2023 selections promise to captivate tastemakers and experience seekers.
The Midnight Madness ProgramThe program boasts films like Harmony Korine's «AGGRO DR1FT» (USA North American Premiere), Moritz Mohr's «Boy Kills World» (World Premiere), and Larry Charles' «Dicks: The Musical» (World Premiere). Among the line-up, Saudi Arabia and Serbia make their section debut with «NAGA» by Meshal Aljaser and «Working Class Goes to Hell» by Mladen Đorđević, respectively.
