Twitter, former US President Donald Trump has returned to it. He appeared there in an interview with X boss Elon Musk at a time when his popularity has gone down severely and he has been trailing behind rival Kamala Harris is almost all opinion polls held since Joe Biden stepped aside. Recounting his assassination attempt, Trump discussed many issues, including the deportation of migrants. The interview posted on X, lasted for two hours. It was overwhelmingly friendly, but it revealed nothing new about the GOP candidate for the US Presidential Election 2024. Trump kept on talking about his recent assassination attempt, illegal immigration, and his plans to cut government regulations.
It is interesting to note that Twitter permanently banned Donald Trump for spreading disinformation that sparked the January 6, 2021, attack on Congress. However, according to the AP, such disinformation has thrived at X under Musk’s leadership. Musk managed to largely ignore it except for a passing Trump reference to a “rigged election.”

The interview was well-attended by the fact that more than 878,000 users connected to the meeting more than 40 minutes after the scheduled start time.
