Elon Musk on 1 July that non-verified users would be limited to 600 tweets per day while those with verified accounts can read up to 6,000 posts daily, with the limit being just 300 for newly-unverified ones. Yaccarino offered her perspective on the changes on 4 July. She stated that Twitter's mission necessitated such measures to strengthen the platform and referred to the revamp as meaningful.

Yaccarino shared a tweet from Twitter's Business account, highlighting the company's commitment to ensuring the authenticity of its user base. The temporary limits on tweet reading were implemented by Twitter to combat spam accounts. In a statement, the company explained that extreme measures were necessary to remove spam and bots from the platform.

Providing advance notice of these actions would have allowed bad actors to alter their behaviour and evade detection, reported Hindustan Times.
