RapidX, unless Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are signed with the Kejriwal government. These two projects aim to connect Delhi with Panipat and Delhi with Alwar, and their fate hinges on the agreement between the central and Delhi governments.
A senior official from the Union housing and urban affairs ministry emphasized that the Delhi government has not yet signed the MoU for the Delhi-Meerut project, highlighting the critical role of these agreements in such initiatives.
These MoUs serve as the foundation for shared responsibilities, including loan payments and loss-sharing among the government entities involved, ensuring a seamless execution of the projects. The official stated, «We have proceeded with the Meerut corridor without Delhi government signing the MoU, but this approach will not be repeated in future projects to avoid any hindrance in project execution.»
Presently, the Delhi-Panipat (103 km) and Delhi-SNB-Alwar (164 km) projects are still under consideration and have not been presented before the Public Investment Board.
