geomagnetic storms in 20 years affecting the telecommunication lines on the Earth and spreading the Northern Lights as far as the Southern US, the Sun regions are back. They are back with a vengeance, as they are facing Earth, putting the planet in the line of fire once again. According to the 'Fox Weather', Sunspot regions 3663 and 3664 are staring at the Earth once again, though with changed names. They have emerged on the other side of the Sun and have been given new names. The old region 3663 has been named 3691, while the old region 3664 is now called 3697.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Space Weather Prediction Center has recorded a solar flare erupting from the southeast side of the Sun on Monday. Sunspot AR3664 is likely responsible for the flare, which was classified as a strong X2.8.

Talking about the nature of the Sun regions, SWPC Service Coordinator Shawn Dahl said these two regions are unusual because they survived the Sun's full rotation and continue to produce strong flares. He told the 'Fox News' that most sunspot groups don't last very long. He also said that the small ones can be seen as they show up, and then they go away because the magnetic field isn't that strong or intensifies rather quickly. He added that the larger groups last well as the Sun
