The event opened with a powerful statement by the moderator, Shivananda Shetty, Partner & Lead ESG, KPMG India, who said, «The ESG data is subject to the same scrutiny as the financial data by stakeholders and it is imperative for organizations to have a similar governance structure in place”. She said, “At the end of the day, what I have learnt from my time in this space is that you really need people onboard, strong processing governance, and good technology to support the vast amount of data.” She also highlighted the importance of governance by explaining, „Nothing this important and complex can be done effectively without the right degree of oversight and decision making.“

He pointed out, “The companies which are still starting young will take a lot of time to reach their net-zero vision. They need to have a realistic target.” He summarizes his part by stating, “The data is key and the correctness of the data is what really matters in this world today”
