US Election News Live Updates
State-wise voting times in IST & when to expect early trends
US will make history. For the right reasons, or the wrong.
Voting proceeded largely without incident across the country, with only isolated reports of delays due to weather, ballot printing issues, and technical glitches. In swing-state Pennsylvania, initial complaints about Republican poll watchers being barred from some polling sites were quickly resolved. Technical issues in Champaign County, Illinois, and Louisville, Kentucky, briefly delayed voting but were swiftly addressed. In Arizona’s Maricopa County, one voting location experienced a short delay when a worker forgot a key.
In Missouri, flooding impacted access to a St. Louis polling site and temporarily cut power to another, prompting poll workers to use a generator. In Maine, hoax shooter reports briefly targeted three high schools serving as polling sites, but voting continued smoothly as police confirmed the calls were false alarms.
Ahead of Election Day on November 5, over 82 million people had already cast their ballots for either Republican Donald Trump or Democrat Kamala Harris through early in-person or mail voting, which mostly proceeded without significant issues.
If you have already voted but are unsure if your ballot has been counted, there are ways to check.
