Writer and director Rian Johnson confirmed last week that Daniel Craig will return as Benoit Blanc in the new Knives Out film. This announcement was made on X, formerly Twitter. Johnson shared a 45-second teaser video revealing the title of the sequel as 'Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.'

Netflix confirmed the news on its Tudum site following Johnson's post. The streaming giant stated that Daniel Craig would reprise his role as the Southern investigator in the new installment. This new film promises a brand-new murder mystery in an undisclosed setting with a fresh cast of suspects.
Rian Johnson mentioned on social media that production for the sequel will start soon. He expressed his love for whodunnits and the flexibility of the genre.
Josh O’Connor and Cailee Spaeny will join the cast. O’Connor recently gained attention for his role in the tennis drama Challengers. Spaeny starred in A24’s Civil War and leads in Alien: Romulus, which is set to release on August 16.
