West Bengal Governor C. V. Ananda Bose directed the state government to take action against the Bratya Basu, Education Minister including his removal from the Cabinet, said Raj Bhavan in an official statement.
The order to Mamata Banerjee's government comes after a political meeting that was held in Gour Banga University under the leadership and presence of Bratya Basu, Minister of Education of West Bengal with other Ministers, MPs, MLAs and political leaders on March 30.
«The Chancellor and Governor of West Bengal has directed the state government to take action against the erring Minister who has deliberately violated the election code of conduct, including his removal from the Cabinet,» the statement of Raj Bhavan read.
The MCC is a set of conventions agreed upon by all stakeholders and imposed during elections. Its objective is to keep the campaigning, polling and counting process orderly, clean and peaceful and check any abuse of state machinery and finances by the party in power.

The governor said that Basu's allegations was an attempt to tarnish his relationship with his constitutional colleague, Chief Minister
