World Anersthesia Day: History
On October 16, 1846, American dentist and physician William Thomas Green Morton conducted the first-ever diethyl ether anaesthesia experiment at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, USA. It was administered to remove a tumour in the jaw. This was the first time in history that a patient underwent surgery without feeling any pain.
