Speaking at a programme marking the birth anniversary of tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda, the DoNER and communications minister called the tribal leaders «heroes not only for the tribal community but for the entire nation.» «Birsa Munda fought a decisive battle against British rule and made the ultimate sacrifice for Bharat Mata. He is a hero to 140 crore people in India, not just the janajati (tribal) community,» Scindia said, asserting that India's history would be incomplete without acknowledging the tribal contributions to the freedom struggle. Taking aim at the Congress, Scindia claimed that the tribals were neglected under its rule and their historical contributions were forgotten.

The Tata-owned airline will now operate over 230 weekly flights from Kolkata and Bagdogra, up from 168 during the previous winter season. This expansion includes new direct routes that will significantly improve travel options for passengers. For Kolkata, Air India Express is introducing new direct flights connecting the city to Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) and Indore, while Bagdogra will see a new connection to Chennai.

On November 4, the top court agreed to consider listing for hearing the PIL that raised concerns about the safety and longevity of bridges in Bihar after several of them collapsed in recent months. The plea is likely to be heard on November 18.

Giving this information, UPPSC Secretary Ashok Kumar said earlier the PCS Preliminary Examination was proposed for December 7 and December 8. Now it will be conducted on December 22 in two sessions — in the first session from 9.30 am to 11.30 am and in the second session from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm. Since November 11, a large number of students have been agitating and demanding that the PCS preliminary and Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examinations should be held on a single day. Kumar told PTI, «Looking at the number of candidates in the RO-ARO exam, we have formed a committee which will submit its report as soon as possible. A decision will be taken accordingly.»
