markets Strategy economy Trade President Experts Trump’s on-again, off-again tariff strategy sows confusion
Donald Trump’s frenzied tariff barrage has been marked by reversals and faulty rollouts, baffling US trading partners and businesses while raising questions about the aims of his signature policy. During his six weeks in office, Trump imposed sweeping Canada and Mexico tariffs, only to pull back with exemptions and deferrals. Confusion has surrounded new import taxes on China. An ambitious proposal to charge duties on previously exempt low-cost packages had to be hastily reversed when it became clear the government lacked the ability to actually collect them. Trump has said tariffs can help achieve his most ambitious goals, from remaking the US economy to raising trillions in revenue. But several hasty announcements have injected chaos into the economy and financial markets, casting doubts about the White House’s trade strategy.

markets Citi Digital Platform security Remark trends 60% of women-led businesses see over 10% revenue boost post securing loans: Indifi
Indifi Technologies, a leading digital lending platform has released its latest findings from its user database, just ahead of International Women’s Day, highlighting a remarkable trend that nearly 60% of female entrepreneurs who secured business loans from the platform witnessed a more than 10% uptick in their revenue before the end of their loan tenure. The findings also highlight a compelling trend of women entrepreneurs from tier-2 cities and beyond increasingly seeking business loans. Since the company’s inception in 2015, women borrowers in these regions accounted for just 12.5% of total disbursals. However, this number has seen a remarkable rise over the years, reaching 37% in 2024, highlighting the growing financial inclusion and accessibility of credit for women-led businesses beyond metro cities. Alok Mittal, Co-founder & MD, Indifi Technologies, said, in a statement, «Our commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs and bridging the financial gap for women-businesses remain steadfast. It is incredibly encouraging to see that nearly 60% of these businesses achieve over 10% revenue growth after securing a loan. This is clear proof of how access to the right financial support can drive real impact. This growth speaks to the resilience, ambition, and potential of women entrepreneurs across the country. As more women embrace digital lending to scale their businesses, we are excited to support them on their journey and see this momentum continue to build.»

markets COST Manufacturing Harley-Davidson wellness Trade country India, US trade deal is key to Trump’s economic agenda as well
Donald Trump's push to boost American production and exports, ToI reported. However, across-the-board duty reductions may not necessarily translate into higher US shipments to India, as companies are likely to source goods from more competitive markets like China or Southeast Asia. Despite the tariff debates, American brands such as Harley-Davidson and Tesla do not currently manufacture vehicles in the US for export to India. Harley-Davidson, a brand often associated with US presidents, imports its motorcycles from Thailand, while Tesla—on the verge of entering the Indian market—plans to ship its electric vehicles from Germany after Indian authorities discouraged imports from China. Locational advantages, lower freight costs, and economies of scale make it more profitable for companies to manufacture in other countries rather than the US. Many firms also take advantage of India's free trade agreements to ship goods at zero duty.

UPS FIVE recommendations infection Videos Harvard doctor’s urgent warning: Throw away 3 toxic items from your bathroom ASAP
Dr. Saurabh Sethi, a Harvard and Stanford graduate, recently urged his followers to eliminate three surprisingly toxic items from their bathrooms immediately. In a viral video, he highlighted common everyday essentials that, if neglected, could pose serious health risks. He specifically pointed out toothbrushes, razors, and mouthwash as culprits that need urgent attention. Dr. Sethi began by listing the “three worst bathroom items” that should be discarded without delay. Topping the list was the toothbrush. He revealed that a staggering 75% of people continue using their toothbrushes beyond the recommended three-month period. Over time, toothbrushes lose up to 30% of their cleaning efficiency, and worse, the bristles become a breeding ground for bacteria, potentially harming oral health. The second item on his list is dull razors. He stated that dull razor blades cause 10 times more skin irritation. He urges everyone to replace them after just five to seven uses to avoid skin damage and infections. The final common washroom item that he warns everyone of is the anti-microbial mouthwash. He claimed that according to studies, such mouthwash can harm the beneficial bacteria in the mouth that can affect the balance of the gut microbiome.
