Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the Hyperloop testing facility at IIT Madras on Saturday and said that the Hyperloop tube, being developed with the help of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, will soon be the world's longest tube, measuring 410 meters in length. The 410-meter-long Hyperloop test tube located at IIT Chennai is already the longest Hyperloop test facility in Asia. Hyperloop is a high-speed train that runs in a vacuum in a tube. Uber Technologies is in early stages of discussions to acquire BluSmart Mobility, the Gurugram-based all-electric cab service operator, two people in the know said. A deal could help Uber increase its presence in the growing space for electric cabs in India as well as signal consolidation in the urban mobility industry. Real estate developers have acquired 5,885 acres land during 2022-24 for Rs 90,000 crore to build projects amid strong demand for housing and commercial assets, according to JLL India. Real estate consultant JLL India data showed that real estate developers bought 1,603 acres of land in 2022 for Rs 18,112 crore, 1,947 acres in 2023 for Rs 32,203 crore. During 2024, the land acquisition by developers touched 2,335 acres costing Rs 39,742 crore. During the 2022-24 period, real estate developers bought 5,885 acres for Rs 90,057 crore.

Uber on Tuesday said it has tied up with Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles across key cities by 2026, furthering its efforts to boost electric vehicles on its platform. The collaboration aligns with Uber's global objective of providing 100 per cent emission-free rides by 2040, the company said in a statement. Bibhas Nayak, a 29-year-old HR manager at St Stephen’s Hospital in New Delhi, died while defending two women from sexual assault in Karnataka’s Koppal district. DMK MPs on Sunday decided to work towards the rights of southern states, especially Tamil Nadu with regards to delimitation, saying that the population-based exercise will affect not just the southern states but also others, including Odisha and West Bengal. A meeting of DMK MPs, held under party president and Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin in Chennai, came on the eve of the resumption of the Parliament session on Monday. The DMK MPs passed a resolution saying that the party will take up delimitation and imposition of Hindi language during the Parliament session.
