I'm Kejriwal's Hanuman, will clear all his pending works: Kailash Gahlot
AAP leader Kailash Gahlot said he is former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal's 'Hanuman' and will clear all his pending works, as he took charge in the Atishi-led Delhi government on Tuesday. This comes a day after Chief Minister Atishi referred to the Hindu epic Ramayana and said her situation was like that of Lord Ram's brother Bharat who had to rule Ayodhya after Lord Ram went into exile for 14 years. «It is Tuesday today, the day of Hanumanji, and I will work like Hanuman of Arvind Kejriwal and clear all his pending works. The AAP worked well under his leadership and tried to establish Ram Rajya,» Gahlot said after taking charge as the minister for transport, home, administrative reforms and women and child development. The AAP MLA from Najafgarh has retained the same portfolios he held in the Kejriwal-led government.

SC asks CAQM to apprise it about steps taken to curb pollution, stubble burning
Supreme Court on Tuesday asked the Commission for Air Quality Management in the National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas to explain about the steps being taken to curb air pollution due to crop residue burning. A bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih asked the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to apprise about the steps on September 27, when the issue will be taken up for hearing. Senior advocate Aprajita Singh, who is assisting the court as amicus curiae, referred to some newspaper reports and said it appears that stubble burning has started in neighbouring states of Delhi. She urged the court to seek explanation from the CAQM on what steps are being taken to curb air pollution caused by stubble burning and what steps are being taken to fix accountability on officials responsible for checking the burning of paddy straw under the CAQM Act.

Air India's Transformation: A lot is going on to make it a world-class airline
Air India, now owned by the Tata Group, has embarked on a transformative five-year plan and a lot is going on. The airline is making billions-worth of investments in new aircraft, upgrading IT systems, revamping internal processes, and enhancing the consumer experience to shed its legacy image, ToI reported. “To transform an organisation which needed large investments both in terms of the infrastructure, people, processes, in every possible area and to build it up and bring it to this level and to continue to work towards building it to a world class airline is a tough and interesting journey… but we are moving at a very good pace,” said Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India. After Tata Group acquired Air India in 2022, the first year focused on fixing the basics to meet customer and industry expectations. Dogra said, «The idea is to transform it from a legacy organisation which has had several issues into a new world class airline. A lot of focus was put on training programmes, recruitment.»

Will move out of official residence during Navratri festival: Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said that he would move out of his official residence during the upcoming Navratri festival that begins on October 3. In his first public address after tendering his resignation on September 17, the AAP chief also hit out at the BJP for allegedly implicating him in a false case and asserted that he cannot live with the «stain of dishonesty». «I cannot even live, let alone work, with the stigma of being dishonest. If I were dishonest, would I have made electricity and bus travel free for women? Would I have improved government schools and hospitals?» he asked the gathering. Released on bail from Tihar jail on September 13 after over five months in prison in connection with the excise policy case, Kejriwal said that he joined politics to serve the country and not for any greed for power or post.

Arvind Kejriwal sets new political strategy, attacks Modi, poses 5 questions to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat
Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday demanded answers from the RSS for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's actions, in an apparent bid to diminish his stature by implying that the parent Hindutva organisation was the master which should keep its child in control. «Has the son become so big now that it is showing attitude to his mother?» Kejriwal said at a rally where he demanded five answers from Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. The questions he asked were political softballs but the implication of bringing Bhagwat into his new political narrative is new and unusual. Kejriwal wanted to know if the RSS agreed with the BJP's politics of using central agencies to break up parties and topple opposition governments, and inducting «corrupt» leaders into its fold.
