A wind power crisis is holding back the world’s green energy goal
At the COP28 climate talks in Dubai last year, leaders from more than 130 nations agreed to triple renewable power capacity by the end of the decade. It was one of the few tangible agreements at the annual meeting and a goal that’s crucial to cut dependence on fossil fuels that cause climate change. While the target remains achievable, current rates of clean power deployment aren’t sufficient and the rollout of wind turbines is lagging, according to the International Renewable Energy Agency.

New Zealand W vs South Africa W T20 Live Streaming: Where and how to watch Women's T20 World Cup final
New Zealand and South Africa in the Women's T20 World Cup in Dubai on Sunday. No South African or New Zealand — be it men or women — team has ever won a world cup. In the women's tournament, Australia have won six of the eight editions and South Africa beating them in the semi-final was historic in many ways. England in 2009 and the West Indies in 2016 are the only teams that have managed to win the tournament. The final is expected to be a fitting conclusion to a tournament that has showcased a mix of excellent and average cricket, following its relocation to the United Arab Emirates due to political issues in Bangladesh.

Amid Lawrence Bishnoi threats, Salman Khan buys bulletproof car from Dubai: Check price, features
Salman Khan is going all out on security after receiving multiple death threats. The ‘Dabangg’ star has reportedly invested in a brand new bulletproof car. Reports now suggest that the actor is going to great lengths to ensure his protection. According to Bollywood Society, Salman Khan has recently acquired a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV. Since this vehicle is not available in India, it is said that Khan is importing it from Dubai. The car, priced around Rs 2 crore, will reportedly incur additional costs for expedited delivery to India. Details about the car found online reveal that it comes equipped with cutting-edge security features, including sensors to detect explosives, reinforced glass capable of withstanding close-range gunfire and tinted black windows to conceal the identities of those inside. This is not the first time Salman Khan has made such a purchase; last year, he imported another bulletproof car from the UAE after receiving his first death threats from the Bishnoi gang, which also targeted his father, Salim Khan. For the unversed, the ‘Bodyguard’ actor has been a target of the notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi for quite some time now. Days after the murder of politician Baba Siddiqui (who was close to the star), he received fresh death threats.

ICC Women's T20 WC: Pakistan, India knocked out as New Zealand win to reach semis
New Zealand qualified for the knockout stages of the tournament at the expense of both India and Pakistan, following a 54-run win for the White Ferns in Dubai on Monday against Pakistan. Matchday opponents Pakistan knew they could qualify if they chased down a target of 111 in quick time, while India would have qualified instead of both teams had Pakistan still gone on to win in a slower fashion. But a combination of superb bowling from New Zealand and a gung-ho approach from Pakistan saw the match race to a conclusion in just 11.4 overs of the second innings, as Pakistan crashed to 56 all out.

Off-spinner Shreyanka Patil did not allow the batters to settle and registered figures of 2/12 in four over, including a maiden. Renuka Singh Thakur, Deepti Sharma, and Asha Sobhana picked up a wicket each. For Pakistan, Nida Dar scored a 34-ball 28 after being reduced to 41/4 inside 10 overs.
