Indian airlines received bomb threats, as reported by sources. Among the airlines affected are IndiGo, Vistara, Air India, and Akasa Air, including some international routes. IndiGo had six flights impacted by the threats, which included routes such as 6E 58 from Jeddah to Mumbai, 6E 87 from Kozhikode to Dammam, and flights 6E 11 and 6E 17 from Delhi and Mumbai to Istanbul, respectively. Other affected services included 6E 133 from Pune to Jodhpur and 6E 112 from Goa to Ahmedabad.

Jinnah International Airport have reported another suspected case of monkeypox on Saturday, ARY News reported. According to the details, a traveller who arrived on a PIA flight from Jeddah had symptoms that resembled monkeypox. The traveller was taken away to a government-run isolation ward in Sindh for additional assessment and care.

Akasa Air, India’s youngest airline, is on an expansion spree. The airline has commenced operations to Riyadh, the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Now, Akasa will operate daily flight operations between Mumbai and Ridyadh, the airline said in a statement. PIA flight carrying Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and a high-level delegation back from their visit to Saudi Arabia was diverted to Lahore airport, causing inconvenience to hundreds of other passengers, according to a media report on Wednesday. Akasa Air has commenced its international operations with its inaugural overseas flight departing from Mumbai to Doha, Qatar. In a statement on Thursday, the airline said it has been granted traffic rights for three other international destinations — Kuwait, Jeddah, and Riyadh. Akasa will be rapidly expanding its global footprint in the coming months, the statement said. Saudi Arabia is considering transferring ownership of national carrier Saudia to the sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund, two sources familiar with the matter said.
