A recent report by MakeMyTrip, covering the period from June 2023 to May 2024, highlights a significant rise in the number of Indians taking international trips, with a 32% growth in people going on two or more international journeys. Those taking three or more trips have grown by 37%, underscoring India's growing appetite for global travel.
India’s Favorite International Destinations
The report identifies the UAE and Thailand as the top choices for Indian travelers, with 17% and 14% of searches, respectively. These destinations, along with the USA, Singapore, and Indonesia, form the top five countries of interest for Indian tourists.

Interestingly, the top ten countries that attract Indian travelers remain unchanged from the previous year, contributing to 64% of all searches.

The search trends for international travel among Indians indicate a shift in preferences, with the top 10 most popular global cities witnessing a slight drop in search volume from 45% to 42%. This 3% decline suggests that Indian travelers are increasingly exploring new destinations beyond the traditionally favored cities.
