The transaction has been formalised through a deed of transfer between Manipal Health Enterprises and Khubchandani Properties & Investments, besides two other entities—Khoobchandani Hospitals and Perfect Realty.

The procedure was a follow-up to the angioplasty which he had had on July 20, 2012, when doctors put in eight stents to remove the multiple blockages he had in three main arteries in his heart. The party chief underwent a second angioplasty in November 2012. At the time, the doctors removed the blockages in the left anterior descending artery (LAD), which was blocked by almost 60 per cent.

Baba Siddique and probe any possible involvement of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, officials said that the modus operandi of the Bishnoi gang is to engage youth with no criminal records while meeting between its associates and selection of a target is done inside jails as members of the gang are wanted by police across various states in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Mumbai. Bishnoi has been lodged in Sabarmati jail in Ahmedabad since 2023. «These gangsters engage their criminal network to lure unemployed youth, not only in Punjab but also from the neighbouring states by offering them either huge amounts of money or a promise of helping them settle abroad,» according to the NIA. For the killing of Siddique, police officials said the shooters were first timers. Early this year, the gang was behind the killing of INLD chief Nafee Singh Rathee and a Gurugram-based bookie Sachin Munjal. Bishnoi's associate from Canada, Rohit Godara, had claimed responsibility for the killing. On Bishnoi's alleged proceeds of crimes, the NIA has unearthed that one Manish Bhandari, living in Thailand, manages the funds. Bhandari runs the night club chain named Bollywood Club, Cama Club and a hotel-cum-restaurant Punappa in Thailand. The money collected through extortion, illegal liquor and arms smuggling business is sent to Bhandari in Thailand through hawala for investing in night clubs and bars, according to the NIA.

Real estate developer Sunteck Realty has reported nearly 33% on-year growth in pre-sales at Rs 524 crore for the quarter ended September. The company has recorded collections worth Rs 267 crore for the quarter, up 25% from a year ago. The quarterly performance has pushed pre-sales numbers for the first half of 2024-25 to Rs 1,026 crore, up 31.2% from Rs 782 crore a year ago. For the first half of the year, collections rose 21.3% from a year ago to Rs 609 crores.

In its quarterly report, RIL noted that Viacom18 and Star India have already received conditional approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) for their proposed merger. However, the CCI has yet to issue its detailed order regarding the Star-Viacom18 merger. The competition regulator approved the transaction on 28th August.
