G20 Summit will take place on September 9 and 10, 2023 in Delhi. The Delhi government has scheduled three days between September 8 and 10 as public holidays in due to the summit. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) holiday calendar, September 8 is a bank holiday in Delhi for the G20 Summit event.

The statue is 27 feet tall and weighs around 20 tons which has been made from lost wax technique. Notably, the Nataraja sculpture is an iconic representation of Lord Shiva, which holds immense artistic, religious and spiritual significance. In this statue, Lord Shiva is presented performing the dynamic dance posture called tandava, which exudes energy and vitality. The Nataraja statue is created by the traditional Sthapatis of Swamimalai in the traditional lost wax casting process following canons and measurements as mentioned in Silpa Shastra, which have followed in the making of Nataraja since the Chola period, i.e., 9th century AD onwards. The statue is made with eight metals namely; copper- 87 per cent, zinc- 10 per cent, lead- 3 per cent, tin-trace quantity, silver-trace quantity, gold-trace quantity, mercury-trace quantity, and iron as support India is all set to host the G20 Summit scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 9-10.

MUMBAI/NEW DELHI : Tata Group's consumer unit is in talks to buy at least 51% of popular Indian snack food maker Haldiram's but is not comfortable with the $10 billion valuation sought, two people briefed on the matter said. If successfully concluded, a deal would see the Indian conglomerate directly compete with Pepsi and billionaire Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail. Haldiram's, a household name in India, is also talking with private equity firms including Bain Capital about the sale of a 10% stake, they said.

IndiGo on Wednesday said passengers have been notified about flight cancellations at the Delhi airport in connection with G20 Summit. «Due to the G20 Summit 2023 taking place in New Delhi, IndiGo is offering one-time waivers for passengers travelling to and from Delhi between September 8 to 11, 2023,» the airline said in a statement. It did not provide details about the number of flights that are likely to be affected. G20 Summit will be held in the national capital on September 9 and 10. «Customers are being offered the option of rescheduling or cancelling their flights with refunds. Passengers have been notified about flight cancellations and to schedule changes in advance,» the statement said. Scores of flights are likely to be affected at the Delhi airport and airlines are offering waiver of charges for customers planning to reschedule their travel dates. On Tuesday, officials in the know said airlines are making adjustments to their flight operations and select flights are being cancelled or rescheduled.

New Delhi: Drugmaker Abbott India has voluntarily recalled several batches of antacid Digene Gel after the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) issued an advisory against using the product. The regulator said that the impugned product, manufactured at the company’s Goa unit, may be unsafe, and could result in adverse effects when consumed.

New Delhi: The power ministry has amended the electricity rules designating Central Electricity Authority (CEA) as the verifying authority for such captive power generation plans, the users of which are located in more than one state. This was the third amendment to the rules in the past few months, whereby government is trying to streamline captive power generation.

New Delhi: The average time taken to process income tax returns after its verification by the tax payer has been reduced to 10 days, Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said in a statement on Tuesday. CBDT said that the tax department's efforts to provide seamless and expeditious taxpayer services are being continuously strengthened. "In line with the same, average processing time of income tax returns after verification has been reduced to 10 days for the returns filed for assessment year (AY) 2023-24 compared to 82 days for AY 2019-20 and 16 days for AY 2022-23," CBDT said.
