Goa's tourism numbers being circulated on social media platforms is a cause of 'significant concern' among local communities and investors and stakeholders of Goa, and the state government has registered a formal complaint to take cognizance of the matter, said Rohan A Khaunte, minister for tourism, information technology, electronics and communications and printing and stationary for Goa, in an interview with ET. Khaunte said an influx of tourism in any destination brings with it a set of issues and concerns and the state is working with trade bodies to address issues around high rates in the year end season besides allaying concerns around public transportation. The state is also working on boosting connectivity from Southeast Asian markets and other European countries, he said.

Besides, Russia is exploring to invest in India through some of the accumulated rupees, they said. “On November 12, in New Delhi, Denis Manturov jointly with Minister of External Affairs of India Dr Subrahmanyam Jaishankar will hold the 25th session of the Intergovernmental Russian-Indian Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation. As part of his visit, the First Deputy Prime Minister also has a number of bilateral meetings planned,” said a statement issued by the Russian Embassy in India.

The RMC said Tamil Nadu would receive heavy rain due to a low pressure area over the southeast Bay of Bengal at 5.30 am today. «It is likely to become a well marked low pressure area and move west-northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts during the next two days,» it said. There would be enhanced rainfall activity associated with the movement of this system, the IMD said.
