Fed's Waller ponders future path of underlying interest rates
Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller said on Friday it's possible that a key underlying interest rate that influences the potency of monetary policy may rise in the future after years of declines, but it's too soon to say if that will happen. «There has been a lot of debate during the past year as to whether or not 'R-star' has increased,» Waller said in a speech to the Reykjavik Economic Conference in Iceland.

PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC video games this week: Full list, release dates, key details
PlayStation 5/4, Xbox X/S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android and PC users will have new video games to play this week. Here are two new video games that will be released this week for gamers. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice rattled unsuspecting gamers in 2017 with a story in which the scariest monsters may or may not have sprung from the protagonist’s own psychosis. Things haven't gotten much easier for her as "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" video game begins — it’s not like mental health care was a high priority among the Vikings in 10th century Iceland. Still, Senua is determined to rescue “those who have fallen victim to the horrors of tyranny,” though the question remains: Can she do it without losing her mind? British developer Ninja Theory is promising a 'brutal' follow-up to one of the most haunting and nerve-racking games in history, so consider yourself warned, as per a report on AP report.

Is that a subtle sulk growing on the face of 'the happiest nation on Earth'?
Helsinki's vibrant Bohemian northern district, a long breadline snaked down Helsinginkatu and then up Kustaankatu. Nearly 500 people were waiting in the freezing queue for the weekly handout of free food. Breadlines became a familiar phenomenon in Finland since the recession years of the early 1990s. It's looming again. In 2023, GDP declined 0.5% and Finland's central bank says while inflation is easing and households' purchasing power rising, GDP could contract by a further 0.2% in 2024. On the same Wednesday morning, the UN-sponsored World Happiness Report (WHR) declared Finland as the happiest country in the world for the 7th year running. As in the past, other Nordic countries, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden were cheek by jowl to Finland.
