It was a mistake all along. It was the worst move ever, and I like to call it a race towards the bottom,” Gupta said. “I have learned from it and I have moved ahead.” He added that it was better to “fail fast and learn fast” than doing nothing at all.

Bombay HC strikes down amended IT Rules; terms them unconstitutional
Bombay High Court on Friday held as unconstitutional and struck down the amended Information Technology (IT) Rules which sought to identify fake and false content on social media against the government. The matter was assigned to Justice A S Chandurkar as 'tie-breaker judge', after a division bench in January delivered a split verdict on the petitions challenging the amended IT rules. Justice Chandurkar on Friday held that the rules violated constitutional provisions. «I have considered the matter extensively. The impugned rules are violative of Article 14 (right to equality), 19 (freedom of speech and expression) and 19(1)(g) (freedom and right to profession) of the Constitution of India,» the judge said.

No EY representatives at Anna Sebastian's funeral. India head's comment sparks another debate on social media
Anna Sebastian Perayil, a 26-year-old Chartered Accountant who passed her exams in 2023, tragically passed away after working at Ernst & Young (EY) Pune office for just four months. According to a letter her mother, Anita Augustine, wrote to Rajiv Memani, the Chairman and Managing Partner of EY India, Anna had been overworked to the point of breaking. In her letter, Anita Augustine expressed the deep anguish the family felt, not only from the loss of their daughter but also from the apparent lack of empathy shown by Anna's employers. “No one from EY attended Anna's funeral,” she wrote. The absence of her colleagues and managers during such a crucial time added to the family's sorrow. According to her mother, Anna had given her all to EY, yet in her final moments, no one from the organization was present to pay their respects. Anna's death and her mother's emotional letter have since gone viral on social media, sparking conversations about the toxic work culture in many multinational corporations.

Largecaps showing better risk-reward potential compared to midcaps and smallcaps: Harshad Patwardhan
«We clearly believe that at this point of time, if you look at risk reward, largecap is where risk reward looks far better compared to midcaps and smallcaps,» says Harshad Patwardhan, CIO, Union MF. We were speaking with our technical expert earlier and he is talking about 26,000 on the index as soon as next week. What about the top of the year because at 24,000 we thought that perhaps fundamentals are not running as fast as the valuations, 25,000 same questions being asked about valuations, but it just seems like it is all about liquidity, momentum, and flows. Harshad Patwardhan: Absolutely right, fundamentals do assert themselves over medium to long term. But in the near term, clearly the liquidity or the demand-supply tends to overwhelm fundamentals. However, I must point out that medium- to long-term fundamentals of Indian economy, corporate sector look very-very robust. So, to that extent, yes, sometimes the valuations will run ahead of themselves. Stocks and sectors will run ahead of themselves but so long as the medium- to long-term trajectory you are sure of, these things tend to happen. So, I do not really worry too much about it. Having said that, we clearly believe that at this point of time, if you look at risk reward, largecap is where risk reward looks far better compared to midcaps and smallcaps.

'No work, no pay,' Samsung warns striking Indian workers as row escalates
Samsung Electronics has warned its striking workers in southern India they will not receive wages if they continue protesting and also face the risk of termination, a company email showed, escalating a dispute between the company and its employees. Hundreds of Samsung workers have since Sept. 9 disrupted work and protested in a nearby makeshift tent close to its home appliances factory near the city of Chennai. They have been demanding higher wages and recognition of a union at the plant, which contributes roughly a third of Samsung's annual India revenue of $12 billion. Samsung last week sued the protesting union in a district court, seeking a temporary injunction to restrain sloganeering and making speeches in and around the factory. But the judge on Thursday only called for a swift resolution.
