Kylian Mbappe of PSG to sign biggest transfer deal of football history at $1.1 billion? What we know so far
Following this, L'Equipe in France reported that PSG's owners from Qatar are open to accepting the proposal, which would shatter the current world transfer record for a football player. However, for the deal to materialize, they must convince Mbappe to switch teams. It is speculated that Al-Hilal is prepared to offer Mbappe an astounding €700 million ($776 million) for a single season, after which he would be free to join Real Madrid. This extraordinary sum would amount to a staggering €1 billion ($1.1 billion) in total, surpassing Lionel Messi's previous record for the highest-paid sports contract, Forbes reported citing CBS Sports' James Benge. Apart from Real Madrid and Al-Hilal, Spanish giant Barcelona, top English clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Italian side Inter Milan have shown keen interest in signing the French world cup winner, as per reports. Back in 2017, PSG set the current world transfer record when they activated Neymar's release clause at FC Barcelona, paying an eye-watering €222 million ($246 million). Mbappe's move to PSG in the same year had to be managed through a loan due to Financial Fair Play restrictions, as the club had already expended an enormous fee to secure Neymar's services. Subsequently, in the following year, Mbappe joined PSG permanently from Monaco for a total arrangement of €145 million ($160 million), with an additional €35 million ($39 million) in add-ons, making him the most expensive teenager in football history.

ESPN soccer expert Shaka Hislop collapses during Real Madrid vs AC Milan match. Watch video
Alongside his fellow presenter, Dan Thomas, former Trinidad and Tobago international Shaka Hislop appeared to lose his balance and collapsed while speaking on air. The crew immediately rushed to his aid as Thomas called for assistance. To ensure his well-being, the channel promptly cut to a commercial break. In a subsequent tweet, ESPN reassured viewers that Shaka was conscious and communicating with medical personnel who had attended to him promptly. The incident occurred amidst temperatures of approximately 30 degrees Celsius in California on that particular Sunday. In an update at half-time, Thomas said Hislop had apparently recovered after the incident. «My mate, Shaka, not here, but as it stands, it's good news,» Thomas told viewers. «He's conscious, he's talking, I think he's a little embarrassed about it all. He's apologized profusely. Not a man who likes people to make a fuss of him. Obviously far too early to make any sort of diagnosis, but the important thing is, that Shaka's conscious and we spoke to his family as well, because you imagine seeing that happen live,» Thomas said. The exhibition game saw Spanish giants Madrid overturn a 2-0 deficit to clinch a 3-2 win over Milan.

Specter of right-wing entering Spanish government fades after inconclusive national election
Spain's Vox party, with its ultra-nationalist bent, lost support among voters in Sunday's election, dashing its hopes to be a kingmaker and enter a governing coalition that would have given the far-right its first share of power in Spain since Francisco Franco's 20th century dictatorship. The mainstream conservative Popular Party won the election, but performed well below polling data that had forecast it could oust Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez if it formed a government with Vox as a junior partner. Even though Sanchez's Socialists finished second, they and their allied parties celebrated the outcome as a victory since their combined forces gained slightly more seats than the Popular Party and Vox.
