Champions Trophy 2025, ANI reported citing sources on Thursday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will ask ICC to host matches in hybrid mode in Dubai or Sri Lanka, sources said. The marquee tournament is scheduled from February 19 to March 9 with March 10 as Reserve Day.

T20 World Cup-winning skipper Rohit Sharma will continue to lead India in the ODI and Test formats BCCI secretary Jay Shah said on Sunday, exuding confidence that the country will win next year's Champions Trophy and World Test Championship under his captaincy. Daily Mirror, quoted the Lankan civil aviation minister T D Abeysuriya as saying there were no “suitable suitors" for the country’s national carrier SriLankan Airlines.  The minister hinted that the government may shelve its plans to sell the airline, and instead take on some of its debt and restructure it. SriLankan and Sri Lanka find themselves in a position that Air India and the government of India were in not too long ago. For years the Sri Lankan government has been bailing out its national carrier, which has a huge debt burden.

India is keen to fast-track longstanding talks with Sri Lanka on setting up a power grid link between the two neighbours for electricity trading, especially renewable energy. The aim is to eventually sign a memorandum of understanding between state-owned Power Grid Corporation of India and Sri Lanka's Ceylon Electricity Board, said people familiar with the matter. «Discussion is still going on with the Sri Lankan government on the grid connectivity project,» an Indian government official said. The grid connectivity project is being planned through both overhead and under-sea cables, a second official added. Power Grid didn't respond to ET's queries.

This is not the first time that Iran has smuggled aircrafts into the country. It has been reported by Metro that the two aircrafts changed their path and disappeared after entering the Iranian airspace. Further, authorities in Lithuania prevented a third aircraft from taking off. Iran has been sanctioned by many of the western countries including the US. This incident is alleged to have taken place in February.

European Space Agency (ESA) has released an image of the Ram Setu, also known as Adam's Bridge, captured by its Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite. This chain of shoals stretches 48 km, connecting Rameswaram Island in India and Mannar Island in Sri Lanka. It separates the Gulf of Mannar from the Palk Strait. The satellites carry an innovative wide swath high-resolution multispectral imager with 13 spectral bands and provide a new perspective of land and vegetation.
