JD Vance’s pet-eating story faces another embarrassing turn; here's what it is
Miss Sassy is safe. Another embarrassing snag has been hit by J D Vance's pet-eating hoax. JD Vance's claim that Haitian immigrants are stealing and eating pets has encountered yet another awkward turn of events. In response to criticism regarding the hoax, Vance's campaign this week provided the Wall Street Journal with a police report that described a Springfield, Ohio, resident's allegation that her cat had mysteriously disappeared in August. According to Vance's team, the report provided evidence that there was cause for concern regarding the safety of Springfield's pets. But as it happens, Miss Sassy, the missing cat, was safe all along, just like Sassy, the cat from Homeward Bound. Her owner, Anna Kilgore, reported to the Journal that her cat's journey home was a little bit shorter. She spent the entire time hiding in her basement, only to reappear a few days after she reported her missing to the police. Kilgore told the Journal that she used her daughter and a translation app to apologize to her Haitian neighbours. Kilgore was seen holding a Trump 2024 flag and sporting a shirt bearing the same slogan.

Republicans blocks Senate IVF bill, despite Trump’s backing; Joe Biden slams move as ‘outrageous’
Senate has failed to pass legislation to create a national right to in vitro fertilisation (IVF), with Republicans blocking the effort for a second time this year. The vote was 51-44, falling short of the 60 votes needed. Only two Republican senators, Susan Collins of Maine and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, supported the bill. Vice President Kamala Harris criticized the Senate's decision, saying Republicans have shown they will not protect access to fertility treatments. President Joe Biden also expressed his disappointment, calling the situation «outrageous and unacceptable.» Democrats, led by Senator Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, accused Republicans of hypocrisy. Duckworth pointed out that many Republicans claim to support IVF but refuse to vote for legislation guaranteeing its availability. “They say they support IVF—here you go, vote on this," Duckworth said.

The reason old Bollywood movies like 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and 'Maine Pyar Kiya' are back in theaters
big screen to surprising success — from the 2012 hit "Gangs of Wasseypur" full of blood, gore and revenge to the romantic «Laila Majnu» that had a lacklustre run when it was first released in 2018. According to trade experts and exhibitors, this is a good way to fill up the halls and recover money as those who loved watching these movies or missed them at the time of their release seem keen for the big screen experience. «It's beneficial for exhibitors, and whoever holds the right to the film also earns money. For instance, when 'Laila Majnu' and 'Rockstar' were released, they didn't do well but this generation loved these films. »The average occupancy for 'Laila Majnu' was 40 per cent all over India. In some properties in Mumbai, it registered over 80 per cent occupancy," trade analyst Atul Mohan told PTI, adding that he is confident that «Gangs of Wasseypur» will be immensely loved.
