Picasso masterpiece, the late Spanish painter's "Femme a la montre" from 1932, is expected to fetch at least $120 million, Sotheby's announced Wednesday. The painting, which depicts Picasso's mistress wearing a watch, will be sold as part of a two-day auction of late New Yorker Emily Fisher Landau's prestigious collection. Other works up for sale include pieces by Jasper Johns, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko and Andy Warhol. Fisher Landau, a longtime board member of the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and a renowned art patron and collector, passed away in March at age 102. Sotheby's said in a statement that around 120 pieces from her collection would be for sale and «estimated to bring well over $400 million» in total, with «Femme a la montre» making up a significant portion.

Mahabharata which were commissioned by Udaipur's Maharana Jai Singh and painted between 1680 and 1698 by his court painter Allah Baksh. «The Mahabharata: Mewari Miniature Paintings (1680-1698) by Allah Baksh» is authored by Chandra Prakash Deval (an expert in Rajasthani literature) and Alok Bhalla (academic-translator). The selection of the paintings, published in the four volumes, is enhanced by designed covers, gilded pages and translations. Each exquisite painting includes a verse from the Mahabharata in Mewari written by Pandit Kishan Das, related to the image. The Mewari text has been translated into Hindi by Deval and then further into English by Bhalla, who has also written the extensive general introduction to each volume, as well as the introductions to the 14 parvas for which paintings have been showcased in the book. A fifth volume of 500 paintings devoted to the Gita, was published by Niyogi Books in 2019. These radiant miniatures painted by Baksh follow almost every story in every chapter of the Mahabharata and have no precedent in India's art tradition.

Skill India Digital, a digital public infrastructure (DPI), that will bring together all government initiatives related to skilling, education, employment and entrepreneurship in the country on one platform. “The state-of-the- art platform will be a breakthrough in accelerating skilled talent hiring, facilitating lifelong learning and career advancement,” the ministry said in a statement. “It is also a comprehensive information gateway for all government skilling and entrepreneurship initiatives and aligns perfectly with the vision articulated in the G20 framework for building DPI and the digital economy to promote digital skills and digital literacy,” MSDE added. “MSDE has created an open-source platform to address the skilling needs of India’s diverse demography. Skill India Digital is one more step towards harnessing our demographic dividend and establishing India as a global skills hub,” Dharmendra Pradhan, minister for skills development and entrepreneurship, said. According to MSDE, the Skill India Digital aims to remove existing obstacles by offering an easy-to-use interface which is adaptable to various devices. “It will ensure that eople from diverse backgrounds can access the platform effortlessly, regardless of the technology as it will support multiple Indian Languages,” it added. As per the statement, one of the key strengths of Skill India Digital is its comprehensive approach to training and skill development.

Mishra, who shared the stage with his wife Divya, expressed his gratitude to the government of France for the honour. «I'm deeply humbled to receive the Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by French ambassador Emmanuel Lenain. He has been a great supporter and friend. Also thanks to French President Emmanuel Macron for his kind recognition,» the Delhi-based designer, known for marrying slow fashion with traditional Indian crafts, said in his acceptance speech.
