It also claimed that Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who was scheduled to deliver the Eid sermon, was placed under house arrest. The Eid prayers have been barred at Jama Masjid and Eidgah by the authorities since 2019.

Gujar was brought to Mumbai and produced before the city court. He is to remain in police custody till June 18. According to the Mumbai police, a complaint against Gujar was filed after the video went viral. Gujar is believed to have connections with gangsters Goldy Brar, Vivek Bhaiya, Rohit, and Jitin, who issued death threats to the ‘Hum Aapke Hain Kaun’ star. The video content was transcribed by the police officials. It reads, “Ram Ram mere sabhi Bhaiyo (Ram Ram all my brothers)… Brothers, we are all brothers now, Goldy is my brother, Nitin, Vivek, Rohit, and Jitin, they all are here and there are many more brothers.” The video further stated, “Our intention was clear, what we want and it was shared but he is not listening.
