Climate protesters in New York and across the globe send message to United Nations
Joe Biden and world leaders to end fossil fuel use. With parades, concerts, and banging drums, some of the 15,000 expected waved signs that read «End Fossil Fuel Use» and "Fossil Fuels Kill" and «Declare a Climate Emergency.» One man was dressed as a melting snowman warning of rising sea levels. The message was for world leaders to save the planet from the use of oil and gas believed to be driving a warming globe. Sunday's protests were part of a week-long international effort by Climate Group, a non-profit whose purpose is to drive climate change action and stop global warming, with more than 500 protests planned in the US, Germany, England, South Korea, India and elsewhere, totaling 54 countries. Organizers of the protests expect a global turnout of more than a million people. «Climate Week NYC is all about getting it done,» organizers wrote online.

Aerosmith delays ‘Peace Out: The Farewell Tour’ after Steven Tyler's injury. See what happened
Aerosmith's ‘Peace Out: The Farewell Tour’, marking over 50 years together, faces delays following Steven Tyler's vocal cord injury at the UBS Arena on September 9. Steven Tyler, the frontman, shared that doctors ordered him not to sing for 30 days due to vocal cord damage and bleeding sustained during a recent show. As a result, several tour dates will be rescheduled to ensure a proper performance for fans. Six concerts have been moved to 2024, starting in January and concluding in February. The affected cities include Detroit, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Toronto, Raleigh and Cleveland. Previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the new dates, and refunds are available for those unable to attend. Aerosmith had commenced their ‘Peace Out: The Farewell Tour’ on September 2 in Philadelphia, completing only three out of 40 scheduled dates. Notably, in December of the previous year, the band had to cancel the final two shows of their Las Vegas residency due to an undisclosed illness affecting Steven Tyler. Additionally, earlier in their journey, they had postponed dates to enable Tyler to seek treatment for addiction issues that arose following foot surgery.

US confirms seizing cargo containing Iranian oil earlier this year
Iranian oil earlier this year, Al Jazeera reported. Notably, this strong move by the US resulted in severe tensions in the Gulf. «This is the first-ever criminal resolution involving a company that violated sanctions by facilitating the illicit sale and transport of Iranian oil and comes in concert with a successful seizure of over 980,000 barrels of contraband crude oil,» said the Justice Department in a statement, according to Al Jazeera. The department hailed the move for «successfully disrupting a multimillion-dollar shipment of crude oil,» by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is designated as a «foreign terrorist organization» in the US. Following its seizure of the Iranian oil, Washington charged Tehran with arresting a number of foreign ships transiting the Gulf. Tehran was outraged when the Pentagon revealed in August that it was deploying tens of thousands more US soldiers to the area to «support deterrence efforts» and guard maritime lines, notably the Strait of Hormuz., according to Al Jazeera.Iran has argued that capturing Iranian property in international waters is equivalent to piracy, whereas the US regards stopping Iranian oil ships as law enforcement. «Acts of trespassing on tankers carrying Iranian oil are a clear example of piracy,» Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Nasser Kanasaid last month, as per Al Jazeera. In August, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said that Washington would welcome any steps from Tehran for de-escalating the «growing nuclear threats». He, however, also clarified that the process of bringing back US citizens detained in Iran is a «completely different» matter.
