Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet and also attached assets worth more than Rs 4 crore of former Jharkhand rural development minister Alamgir Alam, his ex personal secretary and the aide's domestic help as part of a money laundering investigation. In a statement on Saturday, the federal agency said it has issued a provisional attachment order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) on July 4 against Alamgir Alam, his former PS Sanjeev Kumar Lal, Lal's wife Reeta Lal and his domestic help Jahangir Alam. The cumulative value of all these assets recorded under the attachment is Rs 4.42 crore, it said. A charge sheet against these accused, except Reeta Lal, was also filed before a special PMLA court in Ranchi on Thursday, the agency said.

Markets regulator Sebi on Tuesday mandated email as a default mode of dispatch of 'Consolidated Account Statement', which provides an account of securities traded by an investor, by depositories and Mutual Fund-Registrar and Transfer Agents (MF-RTAs). The new framework will come into force from April 1, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said in a circular. A Consolidated Account Statement (CAS) is a single or combined account statement which shows the details of financial transactions made by an investor during a month across all mutual funds and also other securities held in dematerialised (demat) mode.

As per provisions of BNSS, the fact as to who has been informed about the arrest shall be recorded in a police station register in such form as the state government may provide. «Provision has also been made to enable the medical practitioner conducting medical examination of an arrested person to conduct one more examination if such practitioner deems it fit. Clause 58 of BNSS says that an arrestee may be produced before a magistrate within the first 24 hours of arrest even if such magistrate does not have jurisdiction,» said an official.
