Rishi Sunak’s visa politics has implications for Indian students
Does the political survival of Britain’s first Indian-origin prime minister call for the sacrifice of the dreams of thousands of Indian students aspiring to study in the UK and find a job there to pay off the loans they have taken to finance their education? We hope Rishi Sunak will rise above the primitive instinct to make sacrifices and instead turn fortune's grimace into a smile. Right now, Rishi Sunak’s Conservative Party is on a losing wicket in British politics. It has lost all recent by-elections and city council elections.

IPL Eliminator: Rajasthan Royals desperate to arrest slide against Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Sanju Samson's Rajasthan Royals will face a stern test of character as they look to arrest a shocking slide in a do-or-die IPL Eliminator against an in-form Royal Challengers Bengaluru, here on Wednesday. The Royals, at one stage, had looked set for a top-place finish in the league stage before a string of four defeats and a washout in the last game against KKR resulted in Sanju Samson's side finishing third behind Sunrisers Hyderabad. On the other hand, RCB have sensationally fought their way back from the brink of elimination. After losing seven of their first eight games this season, the team led by Faf du Plessis hit a dream run and finally knocked out defending champions Chennai Super Kings a few nights ago to seal a playoffs berth. If Rajasthan Royals are coming off four losses and a rained-off game, RCB have notched up six consecutive wins to sound a warning to their rivals that they mean business in the playoffs.

Small cities home to big dream jobs: Hiring scene in tier 2, 3 cities gets busy
Emaar India announces a new project in a tier-2 city, the real estate developer’s chief HR officer Madhuri Mehta’s LinkedIn account gets flooded with messages from professionals looking for jobs back in their hometowns. “These people are a potential talent pool,” said Mehta, citing instances of professionals who want to move back home…from, say, Delhi to Mohali. She said Emaar is hiring actively in cities like Indore, Jaipur, Mohali and Lucknow, where they have projects. Job opportunities are growing across sectors in tier 2 and 3 cities, and professionals are eager to join, recruiters and firms said. Escalating living costs and infrastructural challenges in metros are prompting executives to move to smaller cities. Companies, on their part, are drawn by cheaper land costs, lower salaries and easy talent availability, besides rising disposable incomes in these cities.
