Delhi Congress president Devender Yadav on Monday said a 'Delhi Nyay Yatra' will be organised next month on the lines of Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra, to interact with the people of the city and learn about their issues and problems. The march will start on November 8 from Rajghat and conclude on December 4, ahead of the assembly elections in Delhi. During a launch event of the 'Delhi Nyay Yatra' at the Constitution Club here, Yadav said it will have four phases. «During the yatra, we will interact with the people of Delhi to learn about the issues and problems they have been facing for the last 10 years. The yatra will start on November 8 from Rajghat. It will have four phases and in the first phase, we will cover 16 assembly segments,» he said

Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid on Monday surrendered before authorities in Tihar Jail here after the end of his interim bail, prison officials said. The Awami Ittehad Party leader, who has been arrested in a terror funding case, reached jail premises at noon after a Delhi court, which was scheduled to pass the order on his bail plea, adjourned the matter. Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jit Singh had on September 10 granted interim bail to Rashid, alias Engineer Rashid, to enable him to campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections while deferring the order on his regular bail plea. Rashid's interim bail was previously extended till October 28 on the grounds of his father's poor health. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) hadn't opposed the plea after verifying the documents.

Nate Silver in an op-ed for the New York Times wrote that his «gut says» that former US President Donald Trump will win the November 5 election, while warning that polling data indicate the race could still go either way. «But don't trust anyone's gut, even mine,» he wrote in a New York Times op-ed. His current model gives Trump, the Republican nominee, a 53.1 per cent chance of a second term in the White House. Nate Silver's model currently rates the Republican nominee with a 53.1 percent chance of becoming the 47th president of the United States. “In an election where the seven battleground states are all polling within a percentage point or two, 50-50 is the only responsible forecast," he wrote in his forecast. «So OK, I'll tell you. My gut says Donald Trump. And my guess is that it is true for many anxious Democrats,» Nate wrote. «But I don’t think you should put any value whatsoever on anyone’s gut — including mine. Instead, you should resign yourself to the fact that a 50-50 forecast really does mean 50-50. And you should be open to the possibility that those forecasts are wrong, and that could be the case equally in the direction of Trump or Harris.»

Jharkhand Congress working president Manash Sinha on Monday joined BJP ahead of the assembly polls. He was welcomed into the saffron party by Jharkhand BJP working president Ravindra Rai and Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also BJP's state election co-incharge, during a ceremony at the party's headquarters. «I have served the Congress party and held different posts for the past 27 years. But, there is no respect left for dedicated workers in the party. So, I decided to join the BJP,» Sinha said after joining the saffron camp. Shigeru Ishiba's coalition lost its parliamentary majority in a drubbing in Sunday's election, raising uncertainty over the path for policy and the economy. Ishiba's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), which has ruled Japan for almost all of its post-war history, and junior coalition partner Komeito took 215 seats in the lower house of parliament — well short of the 233 needed for a majority — public broadcaster NHK reported. The LDP previously held 247 seats and Komeito held 32.
