Congress leader Pawan Khera slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday, saying that the BJP takes a stand for those who do wrong and that the Congress raises their voice against the wrong, following claims made by former Wrestling Federation of India president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh that the wrestler's protest was politically motivated by the Congress. Have you seen what sections he was accused of? How dare he speak like this? We are proud that we stood, are standing and will stand with our daughters,» Khera added.

I said Congress is behind wrestler's protest when it started: Brij Bhushan on Bajrang, Vinesh joining party
Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined the Congress party, former Wrestling Federation of India president and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said this development proves that the entire wrestlers' movement was a «conspiracy» against him and the Congress party was behind it. Speaking to on Saturday, Brij Bhushan said that just when the wrestler's protest started at Jantar Mantar in January last year, he had claimed that it was not a movement of sportspersons and Congress was behind it, led by Bhupinder Hooda. «On 18th January 2023, when the protest started at Jantar Mantar, I said that this is not a movement of sportspersons, Congress is behind it. Especially Bhupinder Hooda, Deepender Hooda, Priyanka ji, and Rahul ji. This is a movement of Congress. And today this thing has been proved. In this entire movement, the conspiracy that happened against us, Congress was involved in it and Bhupinder Hooda was leading it,» he said.

J&K polls: Omar Abdullah smells 'conspiracy' against him from Delhi
National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah on Friday alleged that leaders in New Delhi 'hate' him, want to 'silence' him and 'keep conspiring' against him, as he represents the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. «This is a strange election. I knew that leaders in Delhi never liked me. But now I have realised that they hate me and they want to silence me,» said Abdullah, while addressing an election rally here. Abdullah, while referring to his loss in the Lok Sabha polls from Baramulla against jailed Awami Ittehad Party leader Engineer Rashid, said, «A candidate who was behind bars (Engineer Rashid) filed the nomination against me. He recorded an audio clip and circulated it among the electorate… I thought maybe it was my bad luck. I did not see any conspiracy in it. But for the last 2 to 3 days, it seems like a conspiracy to me… daal main kuch kala hai… I don't understand in this situation how those behind bars file nominations only against me.»

NRI homebuyer to get Rs 1.26 crore as refund and compensation from Godrej Properties against cancellation of flat booking
flat from renowned builders, it's generally expected that they will adhere to the agreed payment schedule. However, a non-resident Indian (NRI) residing in London encountered an unfortunate situation with Godrej Properties. The builder requested 60% payment for the flat almost six months before the initially proposed deadline in December 2017. Unable to meet the new deadline, the NRI's flat booking was cancelled in March 2018 by the builder, who allegedly forfeited the NRI's Rs 97 lakh advance payment. Despite the NRI's plea to not cancel the booking, the builder asked for Rs 3.17 lakh as reinstatement fees and Rs 9 lakh as interest in April 2018. The NRI did not agree to the above terms and asked the builder to refund Rs 97 lakh he had already paid when the agreement for sale was registered in 2016. However, the builder refused to pay any money and cited legal terms and conditions. It was later proved in MahaRERA courts that after cancelling the NRI's flat booking, the builder resold these flats to another person for 'substantially' more money. «The Promoter forfeited the amount of Rs 56,66,800/- as per Clause 13(6) of the agreements for sale and did not refund the balance amount,» alleged the NRI in MahaRERA.

BJP trying to manipulate polls via Independents: Omar Abdullah
National Conference (NC) vice-president Omar Abdullah, who filed his nomination from Ganderbal constituency in central Kashmir on Wednesday, accused the BJP of using independent candidates to manipulate the assembly elections. Abdullah, while appealing to the electorate of Ganderbal, removed his skull cap, and urged them to uphold the dignity of his cap. “BJP is making a concerted effort to manipulate this election through independent candidates. They want as many independent candidates as possible to get elected from J&K as they aim to form the government with their help later,” said Abdullah. After abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A) in August 2019, Abdullah along with others were jailed and when he was released in September 2020, he had maintained till recently that he will not fight elections in a Union Territory. He had likened the position of a chief minister in the UT to that of a municipality commissioner of an extremely weak municipality. However, soon after the elections were announced, NC decided to field Abdullah as its star candidate.

Two wheels, too many colours: The cycle of political fights in Indian states
Rajasthan's Education Minister, Madan Dilawar, made headlines by announcing that the bicycles distributed to schoolgirls will switch from black to saffron. Dilawar explained that there’s no special reason behind changing the colour of the bicycles. However, he pointed out that during the previous BJP government in Rajasthan, the bicycles were saffron. When the Congress came to power, they changed the colour to black. Dilawar emphasised that saffron is a symbol of valour and bravery, recalling that patriots wore this colour during India’s independence movement. «With this thought in mind, we have decided to change the colour to saffron,» he said. The free bicycle scheme in Rajasthan started in 2009 to help girls stay in school, as many drop out in Class 9 due to transportation issues. Over 7 lakh girls are eligible for these bicycles, and the government also provides a travel allowance to those living within three to five kilometres of their school.
