In his complaint, Patani alleged that he handed over Rs 5 lakh in cash and transferred an additional Rs 20 lakh to three different bank accounts based on the group’s assurances. However, after three months of no progress, he demanded his money back, only to face threats and hostile behavior from the accused. Patani stated that Shivendra Pratap Singh, someone he knew personally, introduced him to two others, Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash. The suspects allegedly claimed to have strong political connections and promised to secure a high-ranking position for Patani, such as chairman or vice chairman in a government commission. To lend credibility to their scheme, they introduced an accomplice posing as an “officer on special duty” named Himanshu, further convincing Patani of their influence.
