Joe Biden hopes Xi Jinping attends G20 Summit in India
Joe Biden on Thursday hoped that his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping would attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi. Biden, along with more than two dozen world leaders, is scheduled to attend the G20 Summit in New Delhi next week that is being hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recent media reports said that Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping are not likely to attend the summit. «The answer is I hope he attends the G20 Summit,» Biden told reporters Thursday when asked if he is expecting President Xi to attend the meet. Meanwhile, Farwa Aamer, Director of South Asia Initiatives at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), said that President Xi's skipping of the G20 Summit in India could be seen as evidence that China at this point of time is reluctant to cede the centre stage to India. «Perhaps the most significant development so far, which some may say was expected, has been President Xi's decision to skip the upcoming G20 Summit hosted by India.

What is the 3M Earplugs Lawsuit? Know why the conglomerate is being sued as it settles for $6 billion
3M, a multinational conglomerate, has agreed to a substantial settlement amount of over $6 billion in a class-action lawsuit involving faulty earplugs. The lawsuit alleged that the company's Dual-Ended Combat Arms Earplugs, CAEv.2, manufactured between 2003 and 2015, led to hearing loss, tinnitus, and other hearing-related injuries among consumers and military members. This decision comes as a significant milestone in a legal battle that centered on claims of inadequate earplug design.

Neeraj Chopra has won every title the sport has to offer. Now, it's time for a do-over
U20 World Championships gold. Check. Asian Championships gold. Check. Commonwealth Games gold. Check. Asian Games gold. Check. Olympic gold. Check. Diamond League trophy. Check. World Championships gold. Check. This is not a wish list of a teenager made right after watching a motivational movie. Or a shopping list of a soon-to-be bride. This is what Neeraj Chopra’s trophy cabinet looks like after his Sunday night triumph in the World Athletics Championships finals in Budapest, Hungary. Throw in a couple of silver medals he won at last year’s World Championships and Asian Junior Championships in 2016, too, and you have a treasure box that’s never been seen in India. Chopra threw his javelin 88.17m in his second out of six attempts. No one from the 12 strong finals line-up could breach the mark as Chopra became the first Indian ever to win a gold at the World Athletics Championships. The closest was Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem (87.82). When he won silver at the World Championships in Eugene, US, last year, he had said, “Yeah, but it’s not gold.” Well, it is now. The hallmark of Chopra’s ‘golden’ career has been his ability to gauge the conditions better than his competitors. In every competition there have been players with better personal and season best throws but Chopra has always managed to win on the big day. He had arrived in Budapest having played in just three competitions this year. He had hurt his groin in one of those competitions. According to Sportstar, Chopra barely threw a javelin in practice to avoid any possibility of hurting that muscle again. “I was thinking a bit about my groin injury. I was being careful, and my speed was not 100%,” he said. He still won.

Chandrayaan-Themed Rakhis: The new trend for this Rakshabandhan
Rakshabandhan, the cherished festival celebrating the bond between siblings, approaches, an unexpected trend is taking over the festivities. As per a TOI report, the enthusiasm surrounding Chandrayaan-3, India's lunar mission, is extending its influence to this year's Rakshabandhan, with markets now featuring rakhis inspired by the cosmic expedition. Following the widespread jubilation and national pride over the triumphant landing of ISRO's Vikram lander on the moon's southern pole, rakhi artisans are producing a distinctive line of rakhis adorned with Chandrayaan-3 motifs. Labeled with titles such as 'Bharat Ka Vikram Ab Chand Par' (India's Vikram on the Moon) and 'Chand Bharat Ka Hua' (When India Touched the Moon), these specialized rakhis have already made their debut in the markets across the country. Mohd Quadir, a rakhi designer and supplier, told TOI, «The mission's success sparked significant interest among buyers, driving them to request Chandrayaan-3 themed rakhis.
