'Rights of people of J&K should be protected as in some other states'
Congress Committee chief Tariq Hamid Karra on Friday said BJP is touchy and exploitative about Article 370 and this is why Congress is focusing on restoration of statehood with all the rights for locals over land, jobs and admissions to educational institutions. Karra said the sole focus of Congress is to get absolute majority and keep BJP out of government. Congress and National Conference have entered into a pre-poll seat-sharing arrangement in the 90-seat assembly, under which NC is contesting 51 seats and Congress 32 seats. Five seats will see a friendly contest, and two seats have been reserved for CPIM in Kashmir and Panthers Party in Jammu.
