Kerala govt denies reports regarding misuse of Wayanad disaster relief funds
Kerala government has denied reports circulating in the media regarding the funds spent in connection with the Wayanad disaster, calling it factually incorrect, per an official release from Kerala CMO. The release said that the state government had submitted a memorandum to the central government seeking immediate additional assistance for the disaster. Preliminary estimates of the necessary expenses for various aspects were clearly stated in the memorandum. However, these estimates are now being misrepresented in the media as actual expenditure in the disaster-affected areas, which is untrue, the release added. The figures in the memorandum, prepared according to the guidelines of the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF), have been misinterpreted, which undermines the state government's efforts to secure central assistance for the Wayanad landslide disaster, the release said.

How being aware of good habits can help you thrive
good habits — because good habits are not so deep-rooted as bad habits. Good habits need much sacrifice on your part, so, very few people try to cultivate good habits. And even those who try to cultivate good habits try very few good habits; just underneath, there are many bad habits. First, try neutral, then good, then move by and by to bad habits. And, finally, remember that each habit has to be made aware. Once you have become aware of your whole habitual pattern, that habitual pattern is your mind. Any day the shift will happen. Suddenly, you will be in no-mind — when all the habits of your life have become aware… Any day, when that situation, that point, comes — at one hundred degrees — suddenly, a shift will happen....

An anecdote from the Vanishing by Tim Krabbe
Autoroute du Soleil violet, the ribbons of cars tapered off. Rex Hofman and Saskia Ehlvest had been travelling for ten hours, and were still about one hour removed from the end point of their first stage: a hotel in Nuits-St-Georges, not far from Dijon. That lay a bit off the most logical route, but Saskia had found the name worth the minor detour.
