Kremlin warns Russians not to see Trump actions through 'rose-tinted spectacles'
Speaking at Moscow's Higher School of Economics, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov cautioned against people getting excited about the prospect of Elon Musk cutting off the Ukrainian military from his Starlink communications system or about Trump's decision last week to suspend military aid to Kyiv. «Don't rush to put on rose-tinted spectacles,» Peskov told the audience. «We always need to hope for the best but be prepared for the worst. And we must always be ready to defend our interests.» Peskov issued his warning as U.S. officials prepared to meet with a Ukrainian delegation in Saudi Arabia later on Tuesday, in part to determine whether Ukraine is willing to make material concessions to Russia to end the war. Peskov said that Russia was achieving its aims on the battlefield in Ukraine, regardless of what decisions the U.S. was taking. He said the amount of weapons circulating in Ukraine was so large that Kyiv had enough to keep fighting for many months despite the suspension of U.S. deliveries.

Sunita Williams grew plants, fixed ISS systems—What the NASA astronaut did during her 10-month wait in Space
Sunita Williams and fellow astronaut Barry Wilmore launched aboard Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft on 5 June 2024, reaching the ISS a day later. However, the mission encountered severe setbacks when the spacecraft suffered thruster malfunctions, helium leaks, and other technical failures. NASA ultimately deemed it unsafe for their return journey, forcing the astronauts to stay aboard the ISS while alternative plans were made. Williams, now 59, has spent over 600 days in space across three missions, making her one of the most seasoned astronauts in NASA’s history. With 62 hours and nine minutes of spacewalking experience, she holds the record for the longest EVA (extravehicular activity) time by a female astronaut.

Daylight Saving Time returns: Will the US ever end the clock-change debate?
daylight saving time (DST) begins. At 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, March 9, clocks will move forward by an hour, bringing longer daylight hours in the evening but also disrupting sleep schedules. The shift will remain in place until Sunday, November 2, when clocks return to standard time for the winter months. While most states observe DST, some do not. Hawaii and most of Arizona opt out, citing climate and practical concerns. The Navajo Nation, however, does follow the change. U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico and Guam, also skip the adjustment.

Lok Sabha proceedings disrupted as DMK members protest over Pradhan's remarks
Lok Sabha proceedings were on Monday adjourned for about 30 minutes after DMK members protested over Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's remarks that the Tamil Nadu government was «dishonest» on the issue of implementing the PM Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme. Replying to a question on the PM SHRI scheme, Pradhan said the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government has changed its stand on implementing the centrally-sponsored scheme which envisaged strengthening the schools managed by central, state or local bodies. The state concerned has to sign an MoU with the central government that it would implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and in return the central government provides the fund. «The Tamil Nadu government had initially agreed to sign the MoU. But now they have changed the stand. Many non-BJP-ruled states, including Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh, have signed the agreement,» he said.
